Calgary Interiors is a family owned & operated business that has been providing Calgary and Western Canada with outstanding upholstery and custom soft furniture, since 1962. Originally founded by Steve Wenzel and a partner, Steve became a sole proprietor in 1972. Steve operated and built up the company over the early years, with his hard work ethic and great customer relations.After working in the business on weekends and summer holidays when they were kids, Kevin and Jeff Wenzel joined the company after their respective University degrees, and fully took over the operations in 1998.Sadly, Steve Wenzel passed on in August of 2019. His character and passion is greatly missed by everyone that knew him. We know that he is always looking down on us, with a big smile.
Calgary Interiors, a family-run business since 1962, has been dedicated to delivering exceptional upholstery and custom soft furnishings to Calgary and Western Canada. The legacy of craftsmanship continued when Kevin Wenzel, the eldest son of Steve Wenzel, officially joined the team in 1994, bringing with him a background in Industrial and Furniture Design. Kevin’s energy, spirit, and meticulous attention to detail left an immediate mark on the company.
From a young age, Kevin was a creative force, a passion that only grew stronger over time. Designing custom furniture was in his DNA. He found his greatest joy in seeing the team come together to create spectacular pieces for clients. For Kevin, the pursuit of excellence and constant improvement was what truly mattered.
Kevin was deeply committed to sustainable and ethical practices in furniture design, a reflection of his passion for creating pieces that were as responsible as they were beautiful. His loss in September 2022 was deeply felt by all who knew him. He was not just a talented designer and craftsman but a beloved brother, husband, son, uncle, and friend.
Kevin’s talent and creativity were nothing short of magic, and he will forever be missed and remain in our hearts.
Jeff has a lot of the same great characteristics that his father Steve had. He is loyal, kind, genuine, always fun-loving, and these attributes are evident in his business life as well as his family life.
Jeff’s degree in Business allows him to oversee the financial structure of Calgary Interiors, but he also enjoys the “hands on” aspect as well. This keeps his finger on the pulse of the company and ensures that our clients receive the highest quality furniture possible.
Typically, Jeff deals one on one with most of our Industry and Interior Designer clients, making sure they are authentically cared for in each project. If you are in the industry and are in need of furniture guidance, please drop him a note.
A devoted family man, any time Jeff isn’t working he is kept on the go with his lovely wife and three very active kids. They all enjoy water & snow skiing, Volleyball, nature hikes, and pretty much any competitive family game.
